Sunday 31st May saw a host of amazing musicians descend on the Spirit Store to raise money for Women’s Aid Dundalk.
Women’s Aid Dundalk is a non profit organisation, which believes in the basic right of women abused by men to refuge and support, which is available to them on an open door basis. It is a caring organisation, which provides a nurturing atmosphere for all involved. It enables personal growth and development through a philiosophy of mutual aid and self-help.
Last year, with the threat of closing down looming, Women’s Aid joined forces with the Spirit Store to fund raise. An amazing night was had by all, funds were raised and women’s Aid was able to stay open. So again this year, the event was organised in the Spirit Store, and some of Ireland’s top musicians came along to support the cause – Glen Hansard, Lisa O’Neill, Mark Geary, Brendan McCahey, David Keenan, Cat Dowling and Third Smoke – to name a few.
Very proud to say I was part of the event again this year.
